One hundred more Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) participated in a karaoke competition and fashion show held by Endah Azaria Woments Community at Dansz Stage, Tin Hau on Sunday (11/08/2019).

The event, which took the theme “Java Archipelago Lurik 2019”, held four categories of competitions, namely karaoke, Javanese lurik fashion , PMI batik fashion and elegant kebaya fashion .

According to the event’s organizer, Endah Azaria, the lurik theme was deliberately chosen because he wanted to introduce Nusantara lurik in Hong Kong and preserve lurik cloth for the younger generation.

“I want to preserve Nusantara lurik fabrics among young people now, as well as introduce lurik fabrics in the land of Concrete,” said Endah, Tuesday (13/08/2019).

Ary, one of the participants, was interested in participating in the Javanese lurik fashion competition because he felt part of the Javanese people and liked Javanese art and traditional clothing.

“I am part of the Javanese people and I like Javanese arts and traditional clothes,” said Ary, Tuesday (13/08/2019).

In addition to accommodating talent in  the catwalk field , Endah Azaria Women’s Community also provides a forum for PMI who have sewing talents and clothing designers through PMI’s batik creation competition. Where in the competition category, clothing designers whose work won the top three also received prizes and awards.
