Another sad news was received from Indonesian Migrant Workers (BMI). A work accident resulted in a TKI from Blitar being crushed to death by a forklift.
According to data compiled by detikcom, the BMI is named David from Srengat District, Blitar Regency. A screenshot of a video tells of David being hit by an item lifted by a forklift. But then the forklift rolled over and hit David’s body as well.
David immediately passed out, his heart not beating. Then David was evacuated to Cimei Hospital, Tainan for help.
This incident was recorded on Thursday (11/21/2019) located at Zhengnan 3rd Road, Yongkang District, Tainan City. Taiwanese media have reported directly from the scene.
Not long after, a BMI with Papinka’s social media account posted a picture of the work accident. “Goodbye Mr. Davis, I hope you rest in peace there. Rest in peace with Allah SWT. A Taiwanese BMI from Srengat Blitar had an accident at the Tainan factory this afternoon,” the following caption reads.
The Blitar Regency Manpower Office claimed to have heard the information. However, to confirm the truth, they are still waiting for news from the Technical Implementation Unit for Service and Manpower Protection (UPTP2TKI) of the East Java Provincial Government Manpower and Transmigration Office.
“This afternoon we just received certainty, if the news of the work accident is true. However, there is no official notification letter yet. Victims of migrant workers from Blitar and have died,” said the Head of Manpower Office of the Blitar Regency Government, Haris Susianto when confirmed by AFP, Saturday (11/23/2019).
Based on data from the Computerized System for Overseas Workers (SISKOTKLN), the victim was named David Eli Sunarya. David is a legal BMI using a visa issued on April 25, 2017 with the destination country of Taiwan.
“The victim is a resident of Bakalan Hamlet RT 04 RW 04 Wonodadi Village, Wonodadi District,” he added.
Next, the Manpower Office will meet the victim’s family and convey this sad news to the village apparatus. “If the body has information on its return, UPTP2TKI will facilitate it to the funeral home,” he concluded.
