The Hong Kong Indonesian Migrant Workers Association Rejects Overcharging (PILAR HK) celebrates its twelfth anniversary and commemorates Kartini Day with competitions and free services for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) at Victoria Park, Sunday (21/4/2019).
In her speech, Eni Lestari as the coordinator of PILAR HK said that Kartini should not be followed by her kebaya, but also her courage in speaking out and fighting for the dignity of women as human beings.
“That’s why in this competition, friends are asked to present their work, it’s to train friends to be able and willing to speak up and get used to speaking to convey their thoughts as Kartini did,” said Eni Lestari, Sunday (21/4). 2019).
According to Jepi, as the coordinator of the committee, the venue has not yet been determined due to weather constraints, apart from being attended by 13 member organizations of PILAR HK, it is also open to the public.
“In addition to the Mini Tumpeng Creation Competition and the Casual Creative Theme Recycling Competition, we have also been providing free mass services since this morning, and distributing gifts to friends who can answer questions about labor laws in Hong Kong,” said Jepi to Migran Pos, Sunday (21/4/2019).
The event, which was attended by hundreds of PMIs, was lively and closed with the announcement of the winner of the competition after the parade with the contestants and members of PILAR HK around the grass field of Victoria Park.
