The Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy with the Legislative Body Working Committee of the House of Representatives (Panja Baleg DPR) is pursuing the discussion of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation (Ciptaker) or the Job Creation Bill, which is targeted to be completed before 17 August 2020, Thursday (6/8/2020). )
In a virtual press conference,
Susiwijono Moegiarso, Secretary of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, said that his party had discussed five chapters along with three business licenses out of a total of 15 chapters in the Omnibus Law Bill.
“These three business permits are almost 50 percent of the substance,” said Susiwijono, quoted from CNNIndonesia.com, Thursday (6/8/2020).
Susiwijono also stated that his party had discussed this bill
more than 10 times in the Legislative Committee.
As for
the employment chapter, Susiwijono said that the discussion had been carried out in a tripartite manner by involving the unions.
Meanwhile, since this bill was published, it has been rejected by various parties, especially from the workers.
The plan is that on August 14, 2020, a number of labor groups who are members of the People’s Joint Labor Movement (GEBRAK) will hold an action to reject the Omnibus Law on the Job Creation Bill.
The action will be held in front of the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta.
Secretary General of the Confederation of Indonesian Workers’ Union (KPBI) Damar Panca in a virtual press conference said that the August 14 action would be attended by approximately 10,000 GEBRAK members from various elements.
“We took action on August 14 before the President’s speech. The number of organizations is 10,000 GEBRAK members, including workers, farmers, fishermen, students and not only in Jakarta,” said Damar as quoted from Kompas.com, Thursday (6/8/2020).
