The Association of Indonesian Employers and Employers (Himsataki) asked the government to prioritize migrant workers and their families as recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine in order to increase the country’s foreign exchange, Friday (15/1/2021).

Quoted from Antara, Himsataki stated that the vaccine for PMI and PMI candidates is expected to foster confidence in the placement country and service users, which means it can increase the country’s foreign exchange income and overcome unemployment.

“I really hope that Mr. President Jokowi will pay serious and special attention to prospective migrant workers and their families as a top priority in getting the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the national economic recovery (PEN),” said Himsataki Chairman Tegap Harjadmo.

Tegap hopes that the Minister of Manpower and the Head of BP2MI (Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency) will immediately make clear and measurable technical instructions for migrant workers and employers/employers to overcome the global pandemic.

This is a derivative of the Minister of Manpower Decree No. 294 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of the Placement of Indonesian Migrant Workers during the Adaptation of New Habits and refers to the Decree of the Director General of Disease Prevention and Control Number HK. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Himsataki has actually been regulated according to technical instructions regarding the placement of migrant workers during the adaptation period for new habits by taking into account the implementation of Law No. 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers.
