The appeals court then asked the Shagra Court to retrial the case. But the judge still sentenced Lili to death.

Finally, the Majlis A’la Lil-Qudhot (High Council of Judges) decided on a new line of judges who would try Lili’s case. After the trial ran for several trials, on December 6, 2018, the judge read out the verdict to reject the death penalty. However, Lili was still found guilty with a sentence of 8 years in prison and 800 lashes. Considering various things, Lili accepted the decision and stated that she would not appeal.

Lili expressed her gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh for accompanying her all this time.

“I express my deepest gratitude to the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh for always accompanying me so that I can be returned to the country,” said Lili, quoted from coilnews, Wednesday (11/18/2020).

Lili was flown with 140 overstayed Indonesian citizens who were also repatriated to their homeland, namely 23 people from the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh shelter, and 117 others who were sent from the immigration/deportation detention center (Tarhil).

The post After Serving the “Magic Case” Sentence, Lili Returns to Her Homeland first appeared on Postal Migrant.

An Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI) identified as Yalatifu from Gunungpati, Semarang Regency, Central Java became a victim of fraud by a PMI agent sponsor who was promised to work in Abu Dhabi, but was later held captive to be taken to Iraq with PMI victims from West Java, Monday (03/03). /2/2020).

Yalatifu was detained for one month by agents in Erbil, Iraq, after being dispatched by his sponsor (PT Bogor), from Soekarno Hatta Airport to Doha then Erbil on August 28, 2019. After realizing that he was a victim of fraud, Yalatifu tried his best to be able to report what happened to the Indonesian Embassy in Baghdad.

As stated by the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI), after receiving the victim’s report, his party, in coordination with the Indonesian Embassy in Baghdad, had escorted Yalatifu to Soekarno Hatta Airport on Thursday, January 23, 2020.

Because he had been held captive, BP2MI took Yalatifu to the Trauma Center Protection House (RPTC) with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), who had previously been taken to Baresktim for examination.

“Thursday, January 30, 2020, BP2MI has facilitated the repatriation of PMI Yalatifu to his hometown in Semarang Regency, Central Java. PMI Yalatifu was repatriated by train from Jakarta to Semarang accompanied by two officers from BP2MI and returned to his home area,” said BP2MI spokesman Joko Purwanto in Jakarta, Thursday (1/30/2020) quoted by Migran Pos.

The post Fooled by Sponsoring Agents, PMI Experiences Confinement in Iraq first appeared on Postal Migrant.

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Amman said the government shelter there was empty, this shows their success in solving the problems faced by Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in Jordan, and this achievement is the second after 2 months previously it was also empty, Tuesday (10/10). /12/2019).

“We are targeting that in 2019 the problems faced by migrant workers who are in shelters can be resolved,” said the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Jordan and Palestine, Andy Rachmianto, in Amman, Jordan, on Sunday (8/12) local time. .

Reporting from state media, Andy said that as a form of state presence in the service of Indonesian citizens/BHI, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman has made various efforts to ensure that services and protection for Indonesian citizens with problems run well. In addition to carrying out case mediation efforts and assistance on returning home, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman has also visited prisons for criminal cases and cases of immigration violations on a regular basis.

So far, the achievements of the Indonesian Citizens/PMI Protection Task Force from 2017 to the end of 2019 are considered to have yielded quite good results. During this period, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman has succeeded in assisting the mediation process and the repatriation of 682 PMIs and 16 of their children, and the return of labor rights that were successfully fought for both through the court process and mediation amounting to Rp12 billion.

“The emptiness of the Griya Singgah shelter does not mean that the Indonesian Embassy’s efforts to help resolve cases of Indonesian citizens/PMIs who are still there. We will always be present in protecting Indonesian citizens who are still in Jordan,” Andy explained.

He added, as a representative of the Citizen Service in carrying out the function of protection and legal assistance to Indonesian Migrant Workers with Problems (PMIB), on Friday, November 29 2019, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, facilitated the repatriation of one PMI who was the last occupant of the Griya Stopover Shelter at the Indonesian Embassy in Amman. Namely Eel (31 years), PMI from Cianjur, West Java.

“With the completion of the Eel problem, the Griya Stopover Shelter at the Indonesian Embassy in Amman is no longer accommodated there,” said Andy.

The Manpower Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, Suseno Hadi, added that the effort to return home through mediation for the settlement of labor rights is an effort that is prioritized in resolving PMI cases, rather than going through the courts. If an agreement is not found, then the settlement process is delegated to the court.

Since the enactment of the Minister of Manpower Decree No. 260 of 2015 concerning Termination and Prohibition of the Placement of TKI on Individual Users in Middle Eastern Countries, the sending of TKI is no longer carried out. However, the remaining problems are still being faced.

“It is estimated that with the vacancy of the Griya Singgah shelter this year, at least it has become a history of achievements in efforts to protect Indonesian citizens including PMI at the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, and we will continue to fight for the rights and protect the remaining Indonesian citizens/PMIs,” he concluded.

The post Return 682 PMI, Indonesian Embassy in Amman Shelter Empty first appeared on Postal Migrant.
